Why should you attend the Deacon Meetings? So that you will have the opportunity to:

1. Hear from our Pastor and the staff about what is going on at First Baptist

2. Pray for our Staff, our Church, each other, and our members (you will never be called upon to pray out loud)

3. Hear updates from your Deacon Chairman

4. Hear what's going on with the Deacon Ministry Teams

5. Review the Church-wide prayer listing

6. Ask questions!

7. Sign up for one or more of the Deacon Ministry teams

8. Pray with your Deacon brothers

9. Fellowship with your Deacon brothers

10. Finally, you should come to the Deacon meetings because you said you would - Deacons are expected to attend regular deacons’ meetings and actively participate in the deacon ministries (from the Deacon Handbook Role and Service of Deacons)

To prepare for the meeting:

1. Read the minutes from the prior month's meeting

2. Pray that God would direct all parts of the meeting

3. Arrive a little early so that you can check the attendance list and make any necessary changes to your contact information
